WELDABLE RESISTIVE STRAIN GAUGE
The resistive strain gauge is widely used for measuring deformation in the metal structures to wchic it is fixed.
The Strain gauge sensors are installed in the center of the bar according to a particular arrangement that allows compensation of the electrical signal from the thermal and bending effects.
The Strain gauge sensors can work either tensile or compressive, and the sensitized part is resined in order to preserve the functionality of the instrument in case of impact or immersion.
This instrument is used for the measuring strain in tunnel linings, steel struts and the reinforcing rods of foundation piles and partition structures.
The piezometric casing must therefore be periodically flushed and the pressure transducer serviced by making sure that the filter functions correctly and checking the zero value. The transducer allows the sensitized metal diaphragm to which the water pressure is applied, to communicate with the outside air through a connection tube. This prevents the water level measurements from being affected by air pressure fluctuations. Air pressure fluctuations are not compensated in the absolute transducer, which is therefore used in completely filled in boreholes, for measuring pore water pressure.
